Toddler Program

The toddler program at Lakeside Early Learning is for children ages 16-33 months. It has been carefully designed to help children develop in all areas: social/emotional, fine and gross motor skills, spiritual, and cognitive. Creative Curriculum is used in both the toddler and preschool classrooms at Lakeside Early Learning. Classroom schedules are created with this in mind, with a combination of teacher-directed activities as well as plenty of exploratory learning time. Research shows that children learn best from play, and our program and classrooms have been designed with this in mind.  Toddler classes are kept at a maximum size of 10 toddlers with 2 staff so that the toddlers are able to get more individualized attention. A typical day in any of our toddler rooms includes free play/center time, art, sensory, morning snack, outside time, gym time, circle time (story, songs, finger plays), lunch, nap, afternoon snack, and of course plenty of hugs! Toddler assessments are done twice a year in the fall and spring, and parents are offered parent-teacher conferences at that time. Weekly newsletters are sent out each Friday via email so parents know what is happening in the classroom while they are not there. Daily communication from toddler teachers comes via Kinderlime app. You conveniently receive real-time updates of what your child is eating, when they nap, diaper changes, activities, photos and more!
